COVID-19 requirements update

04/26/2021

The COVID-19 situation on Sakhalin is continuously improving. The numbers of officially recorded cases are going down both on Sakhalin in general and in the industry on all our sites. Our client has taken several steps to ease the observation requirements without losing sight of the ultimate goal: to keep project personnel safe. This is why we continue to take every precaution to protect our site personnel from the disease and prevent possible outbreaks.

Per the Sakhalin Governor order dated March 15, 2021, several epidemic response measures have been eased, the stay-at-home requirement for citizens over 65 years old and individuals at risk, as well as remote work requirement for particular social groups have been canceled. These requirements were previously effective in the Sakhalin region. The Khabarovsk region does not enforce the stay-at-home requirement for citizens over 65 years old or other individuals at risk. Starting April 1, the remote work requirement for certain social groups is considered a guideline.

We are aware that the RF Government is considering introducing a new requirement for personnel working at industrial facilities: individuals with no immunity (i.e. who test negative for both PCR and IgG antibodies which are responsible for a specific reaction of the human immune system) will be required to go through a 14-day quarantine, while individuals with immunity (positive results for PCR and IgG antibodies obtained either naturally by having COVID-19 and successfully treating it or by vaccinating) will be subject to less stringent requirements and will be allowed to go back to work without quarantine. Despite the Government not making its final decision on this matter (the requirement is not yet approved and there is no set date of its approval), we choose to provide you with this information to ensure transparency and help you make a carefully weighted decision on vaccination, etc.

The good health and safety of our personnel continue to be our primary concerns. Our team does all it can to organize various safety measures against COVID-19 and comply with all requirements set by government bodies, but we still need your cooperation: please continue social distancing (1.8m+), taking care of personal hygiene (wear masks, wash your hands / use hand sanitizers) and being mindful of your wellbeing (watch out for the symptoms and do not come to work if you notice any).
